A Christmas Village Begins with a Miniature House

Christmas Village
Robin

This Christmas village house…

is named Robin. I chose Robin because it means bright and shining.  Even though I didn’t cover this cute little Christmas village house in glitter from rooftop to floor, it’s still sparkles magically.  I really love the sheen of the paper against the twinkle of the glittered accents.

In creating Robin, I found that I actually already had a lot of the materials stashed away in my craft drawers. And because the scale of this Christmas village house is so small, I found myself hanging onto any scraps after cutting something up.

Additionally. since I’ve started creating village houses, my perspective has completely changed. I must have spent an hour or two at Michaels trying to figure out how I would find garland small enough to put on my little Robin’s windows – I ended up leaving empty-handed after carefully checking aisle after aisle.

Later that afternoon, while walking my dogs, it so happened that the little branch on the roof blew my way and was the perfect size for my project. I ended up finding my tree and the window trimmings on my walk too!

Robin at Night

This Christmas village house also lights up at night beautifully. I was ecstatic when I plugged it into the wall and it beamed. It was magical.

Of course, you can decorate it any way you choose. I added a little figurine of a mother and daughter that I bought from Dollar Tree (I had to repaint it and glitterize it, but it was worth the 1 buck!).

Dimensions

You can place this Christmas village house on a homemade cardboard base, a foam board, or even a tile. It’s small enough that it fits perfectly on a 4×4″ base with room for adding trees or other accents.
